About Shinshu Karasuma (Larch)

The Japanese native tree species, larch, has a harder surface compared to materials like laminated cedar and cypress, making it less prone to scratches and easier to handle.

Larch is a tree species native to Japan and is the only deciduous conifer among Japan's coniferous trees. In autumn, its leaves turn golden, beautifully coloring the mountainous landscapes of Nagano Prefecture. Shinshu larch has beautiful grain, and in addition to the inherent beauty of the wood itself, when manufacturing laminated wood, the emphasis on visual appeal makes a difference in its beauty when used for exposed surfaces. Although it has been utilized for a long time, larch is a very unique species compared to others. Processing requires effort and skill, but by carefully drying and utilizing larch materials, it becomes a dense, strong, and stable wood. **Characteristics of Shinshu Larch** - Beautiful grain - Higher strength compared to larch from other prefectures - High resin content, providing anti-decay and anti-insect effects For more detailed information about larch, please refer to the link below.

Introduction to Construction Method: "Wooden Architecture Using Solid Large-Dimension Lumber"

Achieving a cross-section of 300mm × 300mm × 8,000mm! Using JAS machine grade classification structural timber SD20.

At Daitec Co., Ltd., we adopt a construction method using solid large cross-section lumber. We have made it possible to obtain JAS machine-graded structural lumber with cross-sections ranging from 150mm x 150mm to 300mm x 390mm and lengths up to 8,000mm, which was previously difficult. This has clarified material strength and made it easier to handle in structural planning. At the same time, we have jointly developed "high-strength walls using through-wall construction with cedar lumber" and "overlapping beams," enabling the use of large cross-section laminated timber in large spaces, similar to what was difficult with sawn timber. 【Features】 ■ Wood that utilizes the texture of solid timber itself ■ Compatible with structural calculations *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Wood-based fire-resistant material "COOL WOOD" has obtained ministerial certification for 3-hour fire resistance.

Fire-resistant wooden materials with a 3-hour fire resistance specification have been developed, making it possible to incorporate wood into mid- to high-rise buildings of 15 stories or more! Construction examples are now available!

"COOL WOOD" is a wood-based fire-resistant material that uses gypsum board in its fire-stopping layer. Our company obtained a Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism certification for 3-hour fire resistance in December 2017. With the realization of 3-hour fire resistance specifications, there are no longer restrictions on the number of floors, allowing mid-rise and high-rise buildings that were previously constructed with steel frames or reinforced concrete to be built with wood. 【Features】 ■ All types of wood can be selected for the surface material ■ JAS-certified lumber, as well as non-combustible, quasi-non-combustible, and flame-retardant treated wood, can also be used ■ Ease of processing (only distribution materials used, no special tools required) *For more details, please request materials or view the PDF data from the download.
